Your opinion I am writing to you to tell you that I have
found your site very interesting. In fact, being passionate with Japan and
its culture, I am often curious how the regard of Japanese for France is.
As for your command of French, I was very impressed, because your writing
of French language is very good and almost without errors. BRAVO! First of all, I introduce my self. I am a
developer of computer. I am 22 years old and I am French of Italian origin
and living in Paris. I want to celebrate first your web site. I
find that you generalise too much but inside the truth. I just want to tell
you that there are, in my point of view, too many critiques and not enough
good point about Paris. You write only about human contacts you met during
your stay. In that point, I agree with you without any problem that French
are chauvinistic, in most of cases, badly educated, very personal and above
all stupid. I am fed up with my life in Paris. But the truth is that, when
you live in Paris and you know it (I am talking about French and not about
the point of view from foreigners), you are seldom obliged to behave like
them and I am telling you with full knowledge of the facts, because in any
case I do not pretend to be superior or less stupid. I have become like
that through force of circumstance. I studied in US next to Seattle for a
year. There, everyone was calm and not too stressed, and open-minded to
contacts with others. When I came back to Paris, I was chocked with my life
finding that environment of stress, which I could forget during a year.
When I came back, I behaved by calm way surrounded by Parisians (contacts
in the metro, the way to drive etc) and at the end of the first month, I
understood that I continued to behave in the way, I could do nothing and I
made myself tread on somebody’s toe. So since that time, I started once
again behaving like Parisians a little by little, with the way of egoist
and cold. But I want to make sure that the behaviour is not mine at all, I
even think if it looks presumptuous to be calm and soft nature but I
dislike making myself tread on somebody’s toe when I do efforts. As a
conclusion, I want say that even for Parisians, the life in Paris is very
hard and seems in all points to various explications you give in your web
about the experience you had in Paris. But I want to add that you do not
have to too generalize and to try to do interesting contact because I can
assure you that we are not like that at all even if appearances prove
opposite.
